(Time flies so seize the day!)
It’s happening now
Not far away I have a friend,
In this great world that has no end. Yet days go by and weeks rush on, And before you know it a year has gone. And I never see my old friend’s face, For life is a swift and hectic race. He knows I like him just as well, As in the days when I rang his bell, And he rang mine—we were younger then; Now we are busy and too tired again. Tired with playing a foolish game, Tired with trying to make a name. Tomorrow, I vow, I will give him a call, Just to show that I am thinking of him. But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes, And the distance between us grows and grows. From around the corner yet miles away, Did you see in the obits? He died yesterday. And that is what we get—and deserve in the end, Yet another vanished friend.

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity [Greek aporia—the phrase suggests a state where there is no human solution, ie. no human way out]; the sea and the waves roaring; (Luke 21:25).
