The media has a habit of characterising popular, political, and charismatic persons as a Hitler or
Messiah depending on the political divide someone stands. Left wing journalists – in the United
States and in other countries – for example, suggest that Donald Trump is a messiah figure to
America’s Republican voters (and admittedly, and unfortunately, some of his supporters agree), and a
devil or demon to the Democrats.
Similarly, some in the media have categorised footballer, Israel Folau, as some sort of messiah
figure to Christians simply because he stood up for what he believes in and quoted the Bible on a
personal Facebook page. And what did he post? He partially quoted from 1 Corinthians 6:9-10,
which is NOT solely directed at homosexuality, but at ongoing lifestyles which are ungodly and
unrighteous, and which are contrary to a life in Christ. It is only the media and Lefists that
concentrate on the hot-button topic of homosexuality, completely ignoring some other groups
mentioned, such as thieves and swindlers ... must be that they agree with that part of the listing.
The more vocal or enthusiastic the response by followers and supporters of right-wing political,
and/or conservative persons, the more inclined the media is to use the “messiah” label. Quite
frankly, though, I find the use of the label to be both highly offensive and laughable at the same
time.
Similarly, news reports concerning Folau have also used the word martyr – which though able to be
understand in the figurative way they are using it, takes away from those persons who are true
martyr’s and who have suffered and died for the Faith, including Christians in the Middle-East at
the hands of modern Muslims.
If you asked the average Australian what a Messiah was, I think there’d be a range of answers. But
one thing is for sure, Israel Folau is NOT a messiah, let alone the Messiah. The anglicised word
Messiah comes from the Hebrew ‘mashiach’ meaning one who is anointed – more specifically to be
a leader, priest and/or king; but such anointing is NOT at the behest of man, but is of God.
The whole situation with Israel Folau and his Facebook post that “offended” the Lefties can best be
illustrated from Psalms One and Two.
How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so,
But they are like chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
For the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the wicked will perish.
Why are the nations in an uproar
And the peoples devising a vain thing?
The kings of the earth take their stand
And the rulers take counsel together
Against the LORD and against His Anointed [Messiah/Meshiach], saying,
"Let us tear their fetters apart
And cast away their cords from us!"
He who sits in the heavens laughs,
The Lord scoffs at them.
Then He will speak to them in His anger
And terrify them in His fury, saying,
"But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion,
My holy mountain."
"I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD:
He said to Me, 'You areMy Son, Today I have begotten You.
'Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance,
And the very ends of the earth as Your possession.
'You shall break them with a rod of iron,
You shall shatter them like earthenware.'"
Now therefore, O kings, show discernment;
Take warning, O judges of the earth.
Worship the LORD with reverence
And rejoice with trembling.
Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way,
For His wrath may soon be kindled.
How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!
How does one sell a story today? Isn’t their mantra: sex sells! That’s all the media does, it’s the only
way they can ‘sell their wares’, because if they actually objectively reported the news the vast
majority of people would be educated, but certainly not addicted due to a lack of sensationalism.
Unfortunately to the vast majority, we are living in a time where they incorrect equate and say,
LOVE = SEX. If LOVE, however, was defined correctly, and not so-readily allowed to be hijacked and
redefined, then the fight that has ensued, from and by the “marginalised” few, would not have
received the attention or militancy we are experiencing.
Australians, and others around the world, tend to view Americans as, more often than not, going
over the top with volume and enthusiasm. Now, whether that’s true, or simply the result of
selective editing, reporting, and presentation of video clips to emphasise that, it is, ultimately,
immaterial. Just as Republicans in the USA seem over the top in their support of Donald Trump, I’ve
seen equivalent clips of Democrats supporting Barack Obama, Hilary Clinton, and others. For the
media to suggest that Trump is the Republican Party’s Messiah, or a Messiah-Figure, for
conservatives of America’s Bible-Belt is nothing more than theatrics. Celebrating a political win, or a
leader, who is conservative doesn’t make him a Messiah figure; all it does is show the relief of one
political side in not having to endure the other party, or its leader, in government. After all,
Democrats would have celebrated Hilary Clinton’s win (if it had come) just as much as the
Republicans did, and the Republicans would have mourned Donald Trump’s loss (if it had
happened) just as much as Democrats actually did. (And the same is true in Australian politics with
supporters of Labor viz. Liberal/National (LNP). No party, politician, or political leader in Australia is
perfect; some are just worse than others.)
So too, Australian media hints at, suggests, and/or portrays Israel Folau as a conservative Messiah
figure – when he’s not one at all. He may have suffered loss in regards to his employment
and/or playing the sport he loves, but that doesn’t make him a martyr. Folau’s case merely
showcases the OUTRIGHT LIES the Left told Australia during the Same Sex Marriage debate and
plebiscite. Christians and religious people had nothing to worry about they said ... and less than two
years later there is an outright push to have any and all religious views banned, outlawed, and/or
silenced by the Left. And how does the LEFT WING media respond? By making out Folau is some
Messiah figure for Christians, or some such nonsense.
Folau is NOT a messiah figure, he is merely a high profile personality, a popular football player,
whom the Left tried to silence but who fought back. The Christians in Australia DO NOT regard him
as a messiah figure, rather, as a face on a campaign which the Left said they weren’t going to enact.
The clincher, however, is the concerns of Australia’s many conservatives: that if they’re prepared to
go after a high-profile sportsman like Israel Folau, then they’d have no qualms with coming after us
‘unknowns’ and try to squash us just as ruthlessly.
So Christians and conservatives don’t support Folau, or Trump, because the media suggests we
think they’re God ordained – far from it actually – but, because we see them as flawed individuals
just like the rest of us; and despite that imperfect state, we support people such as them because
of WHAT THEY DO stand up for, as opposed to what the LEFT stands for, or rather, would destroy.
Is Folau (or Trump) perfect? No. Are they better then the LEFT? Yes ... though how much better, is a
matter of personal opinion. So at worst, one could suggest that they’re the lesser of two evils; and
at best, they are to some degree conservative, if not Christian, and at least believe in real
democracy, rather than the socialist/Marxist anti-freedom the LEFT demands in the name of
“tolerance”.
The “tolerant” Left demands submission to them, else they accuse you of being intolerant. The left
who bandies around accusations of bigotry and discrimination hate those that disagree with them,
and which is evident in the fact that they do anything and everything to try to silence them.
Tolerant! They don’t know the meaning of the word.
Why would anyone want to support the LEFT whose ideas of freedom, openness, and inclusion, are
anything but that?
Trump and Folau are NOT Messiah Figures, but at least they aren’t the misleading liars and
deceivers of the Left. Trump and Folau are NOT perfect, nor are they necessarily perfect Christians
... but they’re still better than the duplicitous, lying, and conniving Left who have always had an
agenda to destroy democracy and the Judeo-Christian foundations of the Western World.
