Editorial Comment: For the benefit of those who may not have been following American politics, Glenn Beck is a Republican nominee and a front-runner hopeful in the next American presidential election. Please read the following note, which is re-published from – Wikipedia -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glenn_Beck
The following is taken from pastor Bill Randles' blog @http://billrandles.wordpress.com/2010/08/27/glenn-beck-is-a-mormon/
Glenn Beck is a great communicator. He is very bold, and is saying many true things that few have the courage to say. I agree with much of his critique of the progressive left and their systematic destruction of our institutions. I also happen to think that reviving the memory and legacy of the Founding Fathers is timely.
What a temptation it must be for visible Christian leaders to get on board with Glenn at hisRestoring Honor meetings. I am sure many will and that is a pity. It pains me to say this, because Glenn's talk about God, and the need for the Spirit, and the renewal of all that is good and noble for our country is a beautiful vision.
But doesn't it matter that he is a Mormon? An outspoken Mormon, I might add. Christians are not to be "unequally yoked".
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what concord has Christ with Belial? or what part has he that believes with an infidel? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people – 2 Corinthians 6:4-16.
The Glenn Beck moral crusade represents a classic loyalty test for evangelical Christians, because it presses all of our “hot buttons”. We are all concerned about the national moral decline, the out of control government, the existential threat that Islam represents, the attacks by leftists on our cherished culture and institutions. We just want to be able to do something about it!
There seems to be no evangelical equivalent to Glen Beck so many are jumping on the Beck bandwagon. It is easy to see why.
But what is a Mormon? A Mormon is someone who believes that we are all gods in the making. This is the same lie Satan used to lead Adam and Eve away from God! Mormons believe that Adam became a god, and that he (Adam) is the God of the Bible. If we follow Mormonism, they say, we can all one day be gods also, and populate our own planets with our spirit wives.
Here are just a few quotes from Joseph Smith, founding false prophet, and from Brigham Young one of Mormonism's founders,
Here then is eternal life -- to know the only wise and true God; and you have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God, the same as all Gods have done before you... (Teachings of the Prophet, Joseph Smith, p. 346).
In the beginning, the head of the Gods called a council of the Gods; and they came together and concocted a plan to create the world and people it (Ibid., p. 349).
On June 8, 1873, speaking from the Salt Lake City Tabernacle, Brigham Young said,
The Devil told the truth ... I do not blame Mother Eve. I would not have had her miss eating the forbidden fruit for anything ...
Another Mormon president declared,
The fall of man came as a blessing in disguise... We can hardly look upon anything resulting in such benefits [i.e., godhood] as a sin.

Mormonism is the only cult I know that openly avows that the sin in the Garden of Eden was actually a good thing! How can any true servant of Jesus align himself with a professed member of such a dangerous cult? It is an "ends justifies the means" temptation! Worse yet, for Evangelical leaders, it's more like a “turn these stones into bread” moment. Do something, anything, about the moral decline of this nation!
May our true shepherds have the grace to say in the face of this temptation, what Jesus said in God's Word.
It is written man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that comes out of the mouth of God.
This nation is indeed in deep trouble, but it cannot be revived by a moral crusade led by a man who believes we are all little gods! That is the greatest immorality and idolatry that there ever could be. We can only be revived by total repentance and turning in faith again to Him who once helped America to become "the land of the free and the home of the brave” in the first place. He is the lord Jesus Christ the only true God.
