I first came across the name Maitreya in 1988, when I bought Constance Cumbey’s book Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow from the local Scripture Union bookstore. Her book, which is a worthy resource, details the influence of New Age philosophies on the church, the acceptance of these philosophies into the community as a whole and really raised the alarm for all Christians to take heed. The first chapter, entitled “Maitreya: The New Age Messiah” didn’t make much sense to me then, as I was a young Christian, but looking back now it is, in a sense, prophetic.
An interesting article appeared in Market Watch on 12 December 2008. The headline read ‘Share International Reveals Christmas Miracle.’ “Nothing unusual about that,” you might say, “it’s only 13 days until Christmas.” What is interesting is that Market Watch is affiliated with the Wall Street Journal , and as such is a financial publication, but the story was an announcement about the coming sign heralding the appearance of Maitreya – the new world teacher.
Look now for the biggest miracle of all. In the very near future a large, bright star will appear in the sky visible to all throughout the world - night and day.
Unbelievable? Fantasy? No, a simple fact. Around a week later, Maitreya, the World Teacher for all humanity, will begin his open emergence and though not yet using the name Maitreya will be interviewed on a major US television program.
This message was delivered to Benjamin Creme, who has been a mouthpiece for Maitreya for over 30 years. His organisation Share International is focussed on Maitreya and has a multitude of information regarding this ‘World Teacher for all’.

Awaited by all faiths under different names, Maitreya is the Christ to Christians, the Imam Mahdi to Muslims, Krishna to Hindus, the Messiah to Jews, and Maitreya Buddha to Buddhists. He is theWorld Teacher for all, religious or not, an educator in the broadest sense.
He comes with promises of solutions to the problems of the world. He will give humanity hope, create unity and bring new teaching. He will be the answer that unites all religions, solves economic problems and heals the environment. And what better timing, with the citizens of planet earth facing an ever increasing plethora of global problem - imagined or real.
Starting in February 2009, an advertisement started appearing on major TV networks in the USACNN, MSNBC, the History Channel and the Discovery Channel. These prepared (conditioned) those viewing the advertisement about the pending appearance of Maitreya and the Ascended Masters.
When Jesus was asked of his disciples, in the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24), what the signs of times would be, the Bible record says:
And Jesus answered and said to them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. (Matt 24: 4-5 KJV)
Clearly from this warning Maitreya is a false Christ and Benjamin Creme is his prophet.
